Smell is a sense that consists of two sensory systems, the olfactory nervous system and the nasal trigeminal nervous system. Smell and taste are integrated and interconnected. Smell is a distant sense, although it is a sense that responds to chemical stimulation even at a great distance. Taste, on the other hand, is a close sense and, as surveys show, can dominate up to 75% of people's mood: aromatic substances can have a positive impact on negative emotions such as anger, depression, sadness and despondency. Scents can make people feel happier, more relaxed and more active.
